Why Would artists do this?

  1. Completely free and non-exclusive terms.

  2. You (the artist) control the content. No iPhone videos from fans at your concert.

  3. Royalty Payments: Our revenue multiplied by your percentage of all views.

  4. If we earn a new subscriber because of your video: WE PAY YOU $1/user. (more info)

  5. All videos are added to curated playlists. We want your videos to be seen.

*Our moderation process is not one-size-fits-all. Not all videos will be accepted to ensure a cohesive and curated library.

  • Cinderblock is a platform (and app) that hosts and curates music-based video content across our apps (web, mobile, and TV) where users can watch without being interrupted by ads and irrelevant content. Picture a perfect blend of video streaming + music streaming.

  • Currently you can download the app on iOS (iphones/iPads) and tvOS (Apple TV). Coming soon: Roku, Fires TV Stick, Samsung, Android and more.

  • We believe in full artist transparency on payment terms. Here is the equation we use:

    50% X Total Revenue (subscriptions/ads) X Your Views Percentage (if your video has 10 views out of 100 total across the platform; you have 10% of views)

    Example: If we make $100 and your video has 10 views out of the 100 total app views:

    $100 x 50% = $50

    10 Video Videos / 100 Total Views = 10%

    10% of $50 = $5

    This will be given directly to the rights holders determined by the information you give us. Please note these terms are subject to change and all parties will be informed before implementation.

  • Fancy you would ask that. Our referral program pays $5 for every subscriber that comes directly from following the Artist's video link to Cinderblock ($4.99/mo).

    Example: If the Artist shares their content video link to IG and 500 fans follow it to the app and become subscribers, after they pay their 3rd month, the Artist is paid $2,500.

  • Absolutely not. The Artist is granting us permission to host their video in return for payment royalties back to them and the appropriate publishing parties. See our terms and conditions.

  • All content must meet generic standards outlined here:

    1080p or greater quality.

    The entire song must be intact. Cannot upload only short segments of a song.

    Artist must own 100% of the rights of video and songs used within or have written agreements from necessary rights holders.

    Must not exceed 16 minutes in time.

    Content moderators have the right to approve and reject any content they deem due to specific curation needs of Cinderblock’s catalog. It is not always due to quality.

  • Unlike YouTube, your view counts will not be public. We are more like Netflix and Hulu. We don’t believe views should matter to the viewer.

    We send data for your specific content quarterly via email. We currently do not have a backend platform for artist teams to view analytics. It is in the works.

  • Yes, if you have permission on behalf of your artists and the rights holders of individual pieces of content you may submit them. You must still submit all content individually.

    If its more than 10 videos, PLEASE contact us and we can make the process smoother.

  • All publishing deals will be honored and paid accordingly. In some cases, Artist teams will be paid directly and they will be responsible for dispersing correctly.

  • All collaborators must agree for their content being submitted. Please list all collaborators when submitting content. This will make the process faster and easier for all parties involved.

  • That is completely up to the Artist. We love premiering new videos and you can make more money initially.

  • Cinderblock is a subscription-based platform that hosts only the “best-of-the-best” content that would regularly be watched on YouTube. This will ensure fans and users to not sift through unnecessary content to discover your videos.

  • Absolutely. In the future we hope to be the best platform for featuring your content but we know that you need to see it to believe it.

  • Yes it is! Search for it on the App Store or click the link from the home page!

  • You may request at any time to take your content off of Cinderblock via email: artist-relations@cinderblock.tv Please allow up to 14 days for your request to be responded to and action taken.
